Children are not immune to this stress. In times of change, and in stress at home, children often suffer silently, or act out, and this can present even more challenges.

On April 1, 2019 Watauga Medical Center will move to a new model of
nursery care, using pediatric hospitalists to take care of newborn
infants. As a group, the pediatricians of Blue Ridge Pediatrics have
provided this service for almost 30 years. But as the medical system has
changed, we have realized the need to focus our efforts on our outpatient
clinics. Rest assured we are still taking new patients, including
newborns, and will continue to do so. By not managing the newborn nursery,
we will have more schedule availability in our three offices and the
potential to expand our services to the community. As a group we have been
involved in a years long planning process for this change and we are
confident that the pediatric hospitalists will be committed to continuing a
high level of pediatric care at Watauga Medical Center. If you have any
questions about any of these changes please do not hesitate to ask.
Starting in April 2019 our Saturday sick clinic hours will now be 8:00 am-12:00 pm. Please call 828-262-0100 as early as 8:00 am each Saturday
morning to schedule an appointment.

If you wish to be seen during the walk in clinic please arrive at the office as early as 7:45 am and no later than 8:45 am. You will be asked to provide a copy of your childs insurance card and copay upon arrival. We will do our best to see everyone in a timely manner, however; in our busiest times, such as flu season, it may require asking you to come back at a later time to decrease your wait time.
